New residents Dr. Jacynthe Picard and Dr. Matthew Naccarato have joined WDMH’s care teamwhere they will learn more about family medicine for the next two years.
Born and raised in Casselman, Dr. Picard wanted to stay close to her roots and said Winchester was her #rst choice. “My fam- ily comes from here,” said Picard. “And I’m thrilled to be here.” Dr. Naccarato has already worked at
WDMH three times as part of his education. He likes the hospital and the diverse patient population. “The collegiality of the sta" and physicians is fantastic.” Both will be full-time family medicine residents at WDMH for the next two years, where they receive hands-on learning in almost every area of the hospital. They are paired with local family physicians in the community. “The #rst three weeks have been a whirl- wind,” said Picard. Dr. Naccarato agrees. “There is something di"erent every day. It is truly hands-on learning with a lot of sup- port.”More than 120 candidates applied for the two medical residency spots this year. Dr. Picard and Dr. Naccarato join Dr. Maren Hamilton and Dr. Vanessa Carter, who have just completed their #rst year of residency in Winchester. Four family residents have already graduated from the program.
