THE BRIGHT SIDE BULLETIN A MEMBER DRIVEN COLUMN HIGHLIGHTING POSITIVITY, MINDFULNESS, GRATITUDE, AND GOOD NEWS AT FRENCHMAN’S CREEK.

THIS COLUMN WAS WRITTEN AND DESIGNED BY MEMBERS.

After finishing morning water aerobics with Chris, I feel both energized and a little wobbly- legged—it really is quite the workout. As I step out of the pool, Catarina is already waiting. She picks up a towel, not a robe like many others choose, because she remembers that’s what I prefer. It’s such a small detail, but one that always makes me feel cared for. The towel is warm from being in the sauna as she wraps it around me with a quiet precision. Then comes her quick friendly pat on my upper back. The kind of pat that says, “Off you go, you survived another round.” It’s a small gesture, one that could easily go unnoticed, but it makes me smile every time. It is not just the towel that warms me, but the recognition that someone has anticipated my need and offered kindness without fanfare.

Simple, efficient, yet thoughtful as she moves on to the next person with their preference of a robe or a towel. In that brief exchange, I’m reminded how kindness doesn’t have to be grand to make a difference. As I stand there drying off, I realize how much joy there is in these tiny routines: the workout, the towel, the familiar faces around the pool. It’s all so ordinary, and yet somehow it feels like a little celebration of the morning.

What a lovely way to start the morning—with warmth, kindness and gratitude.
