desk staff, to overseeing all of the spa operations and expanding again to include overseeing all of fitness and aquatics operations as well. It was a natural progression in responsibility as all three areas worked harmoniously to provide an all- inclusive wellness experience. YOU’VE BEEN HERE FOR ALMOST A MONTH— WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU HAVE NOTICED? Definitely the culture. There is such a strong sense of community and family-like bond between members and staff. The atmosphere is welcoming and intimate and the interactions are friendly, caring and respectful. I love seeing staff fully engaged with the members, connecting in a way that is genuine and sincere. I am surrounded by a team of professionals who have welcomed me into the fold with immense support, patience and kindness. The magnitude of warm welcomes, good wishes and offers for help extended by the members is truly astounding. All of this reflects a solid, hospitable culture Frenchman’s Creek should be proud of! HOW DOES YOUR PASSION FOR WELLNESS INTEGRATE INTO YOUR PERSONAL LIFE? To me the wellness journey is a way of life. It’s about the healthy choices we make daily, the intentions behind your actions and how you take care of yourself from the inside out. My husband and I are lucky parents to two very athletic boys, ages 9 and 13. Our approach to wellness at home is based on staying active and cultivating healthy habits that become part of your daily routine. Both boys play sports year-round. They train, practice and play hard. Our evenings and weekends are spent on various fields or ice rinks. My husband also plays hockey several times a week and I love to run and practice yoga. Together as a family, we ride mountain bikes, swim and snorkel. Being active is just one part of the equation. My husband and I talk to our boys about nutrition and being mindful about how you fuel your body, we help them understand how food choices and hydration levels affect how you move, think and feel. DO YOU COOK? I love to cook. My husband is Italian and loves food passionately—he’s adventurous and always willing
to try something new. I like to take recipes and tweak them to suit my families’ preferences. My signature dish is a Tuscan Chicken, which includes a creamy basil sauce, parmesan cheese, spinach and tomatoes. ARE YOU A NATIVE FLORIDIAN? I grew up in Georgia, in a suburb of Atlanta, but have been in South Florida for 18 years, so it’s home. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST THIS SEASON? I’m really looking forward to getting to know the membership. I want to meet as many people as I can and learn about their interests and where they are currently in their wellness journey. I’m excited to collaborate with staff to develop new programming that caters to the Frenchman’s Creek lifestyle and allows everyone to continue doing what they love, in a healthy and happy way! WHAT IS ONE NEW THING IN THE FITNESS CENTER? Aside from the beautiful newly renovated space, we also have brand new Technogym equipment coming in, that is top of the line and designed to enhance performance. We also have new virtual training options that use cutting-edge technology and innovation to create customized workouts. I think the members are going to love learning about all of the new and exciting ways to incorporate fitness into their lifestyle.
