could hear the bustling of the city, or the shriek of children around her. It was silent. Silent like the moment after a big crack of chaos in a thunderstorm or like the sheer emptiness of a car driving under a bridge in a rainstorm. She was still floating up into silence until time decided to play catch up with her. With the burn of her ankle, her tiny feet slammed onto the pavement.
