Every group of friends has one: the Debbie Downer, the wet blanket, the black spot on the sun. Our Grim Reaper can’t wait to call to tell us of death, destruction, of somebody’s fall. So I always fear when I hear that sound-- a ring, a ping, thinking he’s calling again to cheer me down.
