Rain

Beth Sodergren

Many drops of rain It has been raining a lot. Eats up my feelings

Of happiness and smiles. It makes me depressed Just wish it would go away. It jinxes the sun And makes the whole day dreary. Hopefully it goes And makes a complete pit stop. Makes me glad to think.

Erasing You Your ashes fall on my cheek bones like fresh water droplets. Your voice rings in my ears like the cries when I saw your body drop to the floor. Hours without you feel like years without water. Your soul is the falling frozen crystals of this winter’s darkness. How many sleepless nights do I have to spend to get to you? I exhale you in pain like smoke from my lungs. I say that I will erase you from my mind, but I can’t really let you go just yet. Please stay, just a little bit longer, Until we are completely gone, and we

are the shadows of other and distant memories of someone else’s snowflakes. Please stay, until we meet again, Before you’re completely gone forever.
