a ndrew M o r g an MB e Andrew is one of the most respected and well known estate agents and auctioneers in Bristol having spent a lifetime in residential agency and on the auction rostrum and is recognised as one of the most experienced provincial auctioneers in the country. His knowledge of property is second to none which is invaluable to one of the fastest growing agencies in the region. His love of Bristol and his obvious concern for others has led him to be involved in a huge number of charitable events throughout his career raising thousands of pounds by his entertaining charitable auctions. For this work he was awarded The MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2013. He is chairman of several charities and is advisor to many others regarding property matters. He is actively involved in projects with St Mary Redcliffe church, All Saints Clifton and Clifton Village BID and other organisations in Bristol. oliver H o llis BSc (HoNS) Olly has worked in estate agency since 2003, beginning his career as Andrew’s junior negotiator at a local independent firm before moving on to auction assistant and eventually running the sales department. Olly then founded Hollis Morgan with Andrew in 2010.Having been brought up in Clevedon his family moved to Bristol in the early 90s where with his two brothers he attended Clifton College. Driving to the October sale and wondering at the splendid display of trees on The Downs as they started to change colour I was certainly reminded that we are well and truly into the “Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness” as the poet Keats describes the subtle richness of this time of the year.

This unimaginably beautiful display by nature always takes me by surprise. Help “October already and Christmas just around the corner” I think to myself. The last three months of every year se m to pass with extraordinary speed.

Christmas is a watershed: “ we must exchange before Christmas ”; “ we must complete before Christmas ”; “ we must buy something this year ”; “ we must do something before the winter sets in .” These are frequently heard comments in our Auction

FOR SALE AT LIVE ONLINE AUCTION : a headquarters. Of course, Auctions are all about speed, achieving the best prices and meeting timescales. In other words we are talking of highly successful sales to satisfy our clients aspirations. With a 100% sales success , the October auction completely proved my point. The first Lot, 17 Lower Redland Road, a small shop/office had eighteen registered bidders and sold for three and a half times over its reserve. This enthusiasm extended to all the Lots on offer that evening and even extended to the building land on offer. Development land is a real weather vane indicating the state of the market. With four plots sold at a former Radio Station site in Backwell for £725,000 there could be no clearer sign that the property market is confirming “Confidence in the future”.
