The club also uses the building for a community meal program. Council members listened to a preli- minary report from staff on the situation, which included a recommendation from its insurance company to close the building until the mould situation is fixed. Township council held a special meeting, September 9, to listen to a presentation GSPNUIF4BJOU&VHÍOF$FSDMFEFGFSNJÍSFT The service club has concerns about the condition of the basement of its meeting hall. The building is on municipal property and the group has an agreement with the township for the municipality to look after maintenance. Delegates told council there may be a mould and mildew problem in the basement and they are concerned that it could pose a health risk for anyone using the hall.

(PRCDC) grant, for hiring project managers for four future projects aimed at improving local quality of life, and also the municipality’s attractiveness to tourists and future investors. The pro- jects include recreational development of Ile du Chenail and the town’s eastern shoreline, as well as the development of an urban farm in the James, Por- telance and Taché boroughs. – Gregg Chamberlain SUBSIDIZED HOUSING AID The United Counties of Prescott and Russell will include an increase in the per diem rate paid to subsidized rental housing landlords, as part of its 2020 budget discussions, later in the year. The association representing all landlords who provide low-cost rental housing in the region has asked for an increase in the daily subsidy, which allows landlords to maintain their low-cost housing rates while dealing with operation costs affec- ted by inflation. – Gregg Chamberlain
