F TTH Conference 2016, the largest fibre-to- the-home focused event in the World, will take place in Luxembourg City, between 16 and 18 February and provide an international audience with the opportunity to look at the state of the market in Europe and exchange knowledge on the hottest FTTH-related topics, covering deployment, financing, marketing and services. In excess of 3,000 people are expected, from as many as 85 nations, with attendees including analysts and industry experts, investment banks and financing institutions, national government and municipalities, academics and operators, plus service and application providers. overarching theme of “calling for a brighter future”, with more than 130 speakers and 9 themed workshops planned. Central and Western Europe will be a key area of focus over the three days, with presentations discussing how Europe is progressing with FTTH deployment. The conference will also cover fibre enabled services like eHealth and eGovernment, the role of FTTH in smart cities, brining FTTH to business users and the potential for gigabit communities. In addition, more than 90 key industry companies, including Corning, Ericsson, Fujikura, General Cable, Huawei, Huber + Suhner, Nokia, Prysmian, Senko and Viavi will offer hands-on experience of their latest innovations in the exhibition hall.

The event has received support from the host country, Luxembourg, which has long been an ambitious country in the deployment of communications networks, with patronage from Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and Media of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, who will deliver the opening speech of the conference. “FTTH is one of the most, if not the most, promising technology for delivering very high speed broadband. We attach great importance to this technology in our national broadband strategy. I did not hesitate to accept the invitation for the opening speech of the FTTH Conference 2016.
