JMAR Genetics - Annual Bull & Female Sale [10/23/25]

Our mission at Desco Charolais Farm is to produce genetics with the best growth

and carcass traits available while maintaining ideal calving ease and

maternal ability. We do this by acquiring females in the breed that are outliers in those traits and using Advanced Reproduction Technology to propagate those genetic traits with complimentary sires. If you are serious about beef production, we think our genetics will increase your profitability.

This may be the most complete calf ever born at Desco! Gratuity is a true curve bending bull with Calving Ease and Birth Weight EPDs in the top 30% of the breed and then backed by extreme growth with actual data AND EPDs. Gratuity was the 2nd high gaining bull on test out of 103 bulls gaining 5.04 # per day (Grow safe ADG EPD top 8% of cattle tested). With this exceptional gain he still had a respectable Feed to Gain ratio of 4.79#. His sire Grandview is gone and semen is very limited. Grandview’s daughters in production are favorites at Rennert and Christensen Ranches. Now consider Gratuity’s bottom side of the pedigree. The 1V08 cow is the Dam of $25,000 Jubal, $21,000 pick of JMAR females, and $10,000 Kaine. Nice batting average! Stellar feet and big testicles are included with this package! And here is a TIP about his disposition. Recommendations are to budget generously here for a Gratuity! He is a Gentleman who will make you smile like Jerry Yates! Selling 75% semen interest and full possession. The purchaser has the option to add 25% to the sale price and purchase 100% semen interest.

This is the first calf we are selling out of the outcross Fern cow that we flushed with Eaton Ranch. Fern 80641 now resides in the donor herd of Mr. Kelley Stretcher in TX! On the top side Jefferson has been one of the most consistent sire groups at Desco and many other programs. This son will follow suit for consistently excellent phenotype. Jefferson’s dam, F136 was here at Desco for a while and she had excellent feet! Jelly Roll is in the top 10% of the breed for EPDs in WW, YW, MTL, CW and TSI. Top 15% for MARB. Grow Safe ADG EPD in in the top 11% of all cattle tested.
