Youngest artists! Nursery paint
VAN GOUGH This week the children in Nursery have been finding out about a famous artist - Vincent Van Gogh. His painting 'Starry night' has inspired our artwork and I think you will agree that the children did an amazing job of creating their own 'Starry Night above Abbey Nursery paintings. First, we looked at the picture and talked about what we could see. We noticed that Van Gogh had used swirls, dots and dashes in his painting, so we had a go at making those movements with our bodies first (gross motor). After that we practised painting swirls, dots and dashes on a large piece of paper in the tuff tray, before having a go at making our very own 'Starry night' masterpiece, using cotton buds as paintbrushes. The children had a fantastic time and were very proud of their paintings! Well done Nursery. WORLD BOOK DAY A tremendous effort from everyone at Abbey for celebrating World Book Day! Costumes and lots of reading - a fun day at Abbey.
