BIRMINGHAM HOSPICE

Abbey announces the passing of Steve Smith, who served as site manager for 25 years. During his tenure, Steve maintained the safety, security, and upkeep of the school site to a consistently high standard. Steve played a notable role in the phased demolition and construction of the KS1 new- build block, ensuring the project was delivered safely alongside the continued operation of the school. He was known to staff, children, and parents alike, and his contribution to the school over a quarter of a century will not be forgotten. His skills with woodwork helped with many projects across our schools. Steve’s family are raising funds for Birmingham Hospice, who supported Steve and his family with end-of-life care. Abbey extends its condolences to Stephen's family. There is a QR code if families want to contribute. In addition, Abbey will hold a fundraiser in the near future and donate all proceeds to Birmingham Hospice as a wider community contribution.
