Ancient fun! Philosophy

GREEKS Abbey was transformed into a scene straight out of Ancient Greece as pupils donned their togas, picked up their shields, and marched onto the playground for a Greek-themed curriculum day that had everyone talking! The corridors echoed with the sounds of Sparta as students took part in a lively drill on the playground, learning the battle formations that made the Spartans legendary. Over in Athens, young philosophers debated and discovered what made their city the birthplace of democracy and wisdom. But the excitement didn’t stop there! Budding warriors crafted their own shields, ready to defend their city-states, while others embarked on an “information quest,” racing to uncover secrets of the ancient world. The challenge didn’t end with history-students also put their brains to the test with Pythagoras’ puzzle, unlocking the mysteries of Greek mathematics. Teachers reported a buzz of excitement as children immersed themselves in the world of gods, heroes, and legendary thinkers. “We wanted to inspire a love of learning by bringing history to life,” said one teacher. “Seeing the children debate like Athenians, march like Spartans, and solve puzzles like Pythagoras was truly magical.” The day ended with a celebration of Greek achievements, leaving pupils eager to learn more about the ancient world. Who knows-perhaps the next great philosopher or mathematician is already walking the halls of Abbey!
