Fantastic Forest! Y2 at home
FOREST SCHOOL Our Year Two children enjoyed not one, but two fantastic Forest School days right here on our school grounds! While some classmates were away on the residential trip, these lucky explorers had full days of outdoor fun and learning. Both groups tried their hands at using bow saws and billhooks (with adult supervision, of course!) to craft adorable fairy chairs and make colourful birds and rainbows from wood. The giant sandpit was a hit, as was the tricky task of creating enormous bubbles!Working together, the children made beautiful art using nature's treasures found in our forest area. They learned about fire safety through a fun game called "stick stick fire" and enjoyed a well-deserved biscuit and drink break. On day one, our first group of little artists decorated wooden fairy houses with bright paints. They also had a great time exploring the forest and discovering fascinating mini-beasts. The next day, our second group used the charming fairy houses to create a secret fairy trail in the forest - complete with tiny gardens and fairy food! What a treat for our Reception children to discover later! This group also enjoyed a fun "wash day" in the mud kitchen.Both groups loved using our cozy bell tent as a chill-out space. The children's curiosity and enthusiasm were truly heartwarming throughout both days. Mrs. K had a wonderful time guiding our Year Twos through this magical forest experience. It was two days filled with laughter, learning, and lots of outdoor fun! We're so proud of how engaged and imaginative our Year Two explorers were during their Forest School adventure.
