Person specificatio n Qualifications/Education/Training • Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent level qualification/Professional Qualification for example RICS or significant experience in a senior project management role. (Essential)

• Thorough knowledge of planning and building regulations. (Essential)

• Substantial project management experience working in a managerial, or strategic development role within an Estates function.(Essential) Proven experience of: i) Managing major building and estate projects from inception to completion. ii) Building design and specification across a broad spectrum of building types. iii) Commissioning electrical and or mechanical engineering systems. iv) Building technology in respect of construction and maintenance. v) Working with construction and related contracts. vi) Health & Safety risk management to analyse risks associated with proposed projects. vii)Managing large budgets effectively. viii) Working with procurement and tendering procedures. ix) Management of teams of construction professionals and contractors. x) Experience of carbon reduction techniques and technologies relating to construction and refurbishment projects and programmes. • Experience and a good understanding of budget planning and business modelling to ensure service viability and affordability (Essential) • Experience of leading energy conservation and life cycle cost assessments. (Desirable) • Experience in legal negotiations and drafting construction and property agreements. (Desirable) • A good understanding of the Higher Education sector and an appreciation of estates related issues. (Desirable)
