A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 9
Another hectic week for Yeart 9 as they all began transitions to Year 10 by moving their form rooms and lockers. I have been really proud of how organised they have been. As part of the transition, the current Year 10 House Captains came into the forms on Thursday. This was an opportunity for Year 9 pupils to ask questions and get valuable feedback from peers who have experienced the transition and it was lovely to see them supporting each other in this way. Debate Mate have been working with a selected group of students in school today as part of a debating crossover with Thames Water. This is a highly valuable experience which will lead up to an assembly showcase for all of Year 9 later in the term.
Well done to everyone who has been earning epraise this week - I will update you on the leaderboards in next week’s bulletin.
Today is Sports Day and I wish everyone the best in the competitions.
Looking ahead we are keeping the focus on lanyards and uniform for the remainder of this term. I have been really impressed overall with the amazing uniform improvement in Year 9 andI hope to see these standards maintained as we continue to the end of the school year.
Have a lovely weekend!

BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘King of Nothing’ by Nathanael Lessore
I really, really really enjoyed this book! I specifically enjoyed how realistic and actu- ally quite intense it was towards the end. The characters are all written so well. For example I really like how you can tell Anton is not as bad as Kehinde from the start when he kind of defended Mathew when Kehinde was about to give him a hard time. The scene where Mathew and Anton are at a sleepover and they’re talking about his nan made me cry! It was just so wholesome and the boys’ unexpected friendship is such a lovely part of the book. I will definitely suggest this book to people in the future!
