from the south west. Despite the sore heads, Dulwich sailed a very clean first race taking a comfortable win from Bradfield and Tonbridge. Going into the final race of the competition, our main competition for the Charterhouse Bowl was Roedean. Dulwich led off the start line from the favoured pin end and went left, forcing Roedean to sail in our dirty air up the entirety of the first beat. Dulwich managed to round the first mark ahead, just squeezing in front of the leading pack coming in from the right hand side of the course, with Roedean in the bottom three. Thereafter Dulwich continued to extend, sailing to a comfortable second win of the day and victory in the Charterhouse Bowl. The AGM of the Sailing Society was held in the new Laboratory for the first time. A marvellous room was provided that gave wonderful views of the Master’s office, the Memorial and the Queen Mary gates.....we then entertained forty four members and guests for lunch. Awards were presented by our Admiral (the Master), the Archie Shaw cup to Ollie Light (03-08) for his general all round seamanship, being a member of the Arrow trophy team for a number of years and apparently saving the outgoing Commodore’s life! The David Emms Plate was awarded to Jemima Lofts, Head of Sailing at the school. She had, for a number years been instrumental in taking boys dingy sailing and also for organising the Boys Sail Training week within
