given hope and the assurance that all who have received Him as Saviour will some day share in the resurrec tion from the dead. God’s Word' speaks many times of the almond tree, which is in such a hurry to wake up in. the spring. You might like to read what is written in God’s Book about this important tree. You will find that in the Old Testa ment time a beautiful golden candle stick furnished all the light there was in God’s house, the tabernacle. It had seven candles. In the' middle there was one straight tall shaft like a stem, then on each side of this there were three shorter s t e m s called branches. God’s Word tells us that each one of these candles contained “ bowls made like unto almonds.” They were not only on the straight, tall, middle candle, which speaks to us of the Lord Jesus Christ, but they also were on the branches which pic ture all of the men and women and boys and girls who love Christ as their Saviour. You can read about this beautiful golden lamp in Exodus 25:31-40. In Numbers, the seventeenth chap ter, you may read the remarkable story of Aaron’s rod which budded. You will learn from this story that the head of each Israelite tribe pre sented a perfectly dead rod to Moses. A fter each man’s name had been written on his rod, Moses took all the rods and placed them before the Lord in the tabernacle. On the following day, when Moses went into the tabernacle, he discov-. ered a most unusual thing. The rod bearing Aaron’s name had buds, blos soms, and almonds on it. Yes, the Bible says it “ budded and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms and yielded almonds.” Wasn’t this wonder ful? In this way, God showed the people that Aaron was His rightful high priest. But the almond blossoms and almonds on Aaron’s rod told more than this. In a picture and object lesson they told of God’s great High Priest, the Lord Jesus, who arose from the (lead on that first glad Easter morning and is alive forever. Boys and girls, keep your eyes open to see the almond tree “hasten to wake up early.” Each little bud and blossom has a message of resurrec tion joy for you. Two Memory Verses “ And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which wa§ crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth oeiore you into Galilee: there shall ye see him” (Mk. 16:6, 7).

The Wake-up Tree £>o you know which tree is the first to “wake up” from the sleep of win ter? “ The peach,” some one might say. No, it is not the peach nor the cherry nor the apricot, but—the almond. Its very name means “to make haste, and to wake early.” That is just what the almond tree does. While all the other trees are sleeping sound ly, the buds of the almond tree ap pear, and soon afterward the fragrant white blossoms are seen. When we see these beautiful blos soms we know that “wake-up time” has come and that spring is near. H ie almond tree is one of God’s messengers in the world of nature to tell the glad resurrection story. All during the cold winter months, like aU the other trees, it looks bare and dead. But long before the others show signs of life, the l almond tree bursts into bloom. In this way it tells the great truth of life after death. Be cause it blossoms first, it promises that the other trees will blossom, too. This seems to point to Him who was first to rise from the dead, even the Lord Jesus Christ who said, am the resurrection, and the life” (John 11:25). Hfs resurrection has
