face of Jesus Christ.” (4) The task of evangelizing 1 , 000 , 000,000 idolaters is too much for us “ earthly vessels," but “ the ex cellency is from God," “ Lo, I am with you” (Matt. 28:20). (5) Trials and persecu tions confront missionaries and their con verts, and sacrifices ourselves, but we shall not be “ forsaken.” ,( 6 ) The preaching of the cross must be made effective by bearing the cross, and living thè life. Sunday, January 25 Events in Christ’s Life I Like Espe cially to Remember.—Luke 2:51 1. Events Appealing Most to Juniors. Events in the child-life of Jesus, or child- life and Jesus. Get the Juniors to state what interests them and why ( 1 ) in the stories of the first Christmas season (Matt. 2; Luke 2:1-40). (2) In a beautiful scene in the temple (Luke 2:41-52). (3) In a group picture of babes and Jesus (Matt. 19:13-15). A tiny tot gazing on that picture put her finger down and said, “ Mamma, when I go to Jesus I’m goin to stand wite there !” Another in a strange church heard the minister speak of Jesus and said, “Mamma, was it our Jesus?” The Jesus of the picture was indeed our Jesus ; are we His children? (4) In the story of a great picnic dinner Jesus spread for 5000 men, “besides women and children ” (John 6:1-14). (5) In that o f the waking of one so sound asleep that none could rouse her (Mark 5:22, 23; 38-43). ( 6 ) In a lesson Jesus taught to some who wanted to be “ first” (Matt. 18:1-10). 2. The Most Important Events to Remem ber. What events does Jesus tell us to re member? (1 Cor, 11:23-26). There is not one of the events in our Lord’s life which we all, Juniors and Seniors, should forget, but we must remember His death for us on the cross, the shedding of His blood, and the glorious Christmas future when He comes again with the holy angels, not as an infant but as the King of Glory; the song of saints as well as angels; the wonder of

Our Brothers and Sisters in Asia.— 2 Cor. 4:5-10 FOREIGN MISSIONARY MEETING 1. " A sia When Paul wrote the words of the text “ Asia” was but a minor part of what is now Asia Minor. It was a small province on the east coast o f the Aegian Sea. The name now includes the vast continent embracing what is left of the Turkish empire, Persia, Russia (the larger part of its territory) in Asia, India, China, Japan and Korea, with many smaller states, 1 such as Siam, etc. Study the map sufficiently to“emphasize this immense portion of the earth, and consider that it contains two-thirds of the earth’s population. It was the early home of the race, which originated in Mesopotamia; it was the early home of Christianity, which began to be in Palestine, for the Jews and the Lord Jesus Himself were Asiatics. But those parts of Asia which were evangelized, became followers of the conqueror and false prophet, Mohammed, and the countless mul titudes in the Far East remained idolaters. You see we are a large family; we have millions on millions of “brothers and sis ters,” and such ,they really are. Our Gospel came to us from Asia; we must take back to them the light that came from them, and which they have lost meanwhile. 2. Conditions in Asia. Get the Juniors to tell what they have heard or know of the political, economic, but particularly moral and religious condi tions and missionary work among them. Have they ever seen any Asiatics? If so, who? and what? Can they name any early or contemporary missionaries among them ? 3. The Application of the Text (2 Cor. 4: 4-10). (1) Satan blinds Asia to the “Light of the World.” (2) God has taken the veil from our faces. See how light has blessed our lands and darkness cursed theirs. (3) W e should shed the light, “give” out the knowledge, to bless our brothers and sisters, it should shine from our faces as'from “the
