Blessing of Amelie Warwick In February 2025, we gathered to bless Amelie House Warwick – a new refuge for women experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Amelie House is more than just a shelter – it’s a safe haven offering women the support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. With access to essential services and resources, women will find the strength to break free from cycles of homelessness, with scope to take refuge from an experience of violence for those seeking this too. This milestone is a testament to the power of community, compassion and the unwavering Vincentian spirit of all those who made Amelie House Warwick possible.
Around fifty Vincentian Members, staff, volunteers and supporters joined in this special moment, with Fr Graeme Howard blessing the space in what was a powerful and emotional ceremony. This marked over fifty years of Fr Graeme’s involvement with the site, after it was first opened and blessed by forward-thinking Vincentians as Bethlehem House in 1972. We were delighted to welcome Vincentian Members Patrick Flanagan and Robert McManus who were pivotal in its establishment as accommodation for men all those years ago.
