The FMB Southern Counties Area Board at a recent meeting

FMB West Wales charity dinner Members gathered in October for the annual FMB West Wales charity dinner, held in Tenby. The sold-out event was an opportunity for members, both local and from further afield, to socialise and network whilst raising money for a worthy cause. This year, £3,000 was raised for local charity Adam’s Bucketful of Hope Cancer Support Centre. Both FMB National President Chris Carr and FMB Cymru President Gareth Jones were in attendance as guests of the West Wales President Mark Roberts. FMB Cymru has extended its gratitude to branch members who put in the hard work to make the evening possible, and to all members and their suppliers who supported and attended the event. Details of the next dinner will be announced in early 2025.
SOUTH
Area board meetings The South West and Southern Counties area boards recently held their respective meetings. Southern Counties: Nicola Sinclair from People’s Partnership presented to the board on its pension support and other offers available to FMB members. There were also key updates from FMB National Board, news on the recent launch of the FMB member app, and discussions on local issues affecting members. South West: The Builders Merchants Federation addressed the board on regional and national trends, and discussed key issues affecting the industry. Both boards will meet again in 2025 and continue to voice issues affecting regional members.
SOUTH
Area board elections coming soon In spring, there will be elections for board positions on the South West and Southern Counties area boards. The boards form an important part of the FMB’s governance as a trade federation by representing members’ interests. Members in both regions are encouraged to apply to join the boards when the application process opens.
