EGSA Certification Bootcamp: This instructor-guided review program is offered both in-person and in live online formats. The certification bootcamps have the highest success rate of all EGSA preparatory offerings, and it includes a review of all main test topics to ensure that technicians are fully prepared for the Apprentice and Journeyman Certification exams. The bootcamp is offered as one 4-hour review, plus proctoring the exam (totaling 6-8 hours). Bootcamps can include both apprentice and journeyman candidates simultaneously. There are no prerequisites for EGSA’s Certification Bootcamp but completing the study guide and purchasing EGSA’s Onsite Power Generation reference book in advance of the bootcamp are highly recommended. EGSA Load Bank Certification for Technicians The EGSA Load Bank Certification is a 3-day intensive skills assessment course designed for technicians who want to advance their skills in generator load testing. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on lab experience, this program equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely and effectively perform load bank operations. Participants will learn to apply proper safety protocols , interpret generator nameplate ratings , understand and execute different types of load tests , and gather, calculate, and document load test results in compliance with local authority requirements (AHJ). The course also addresses environmental considerations, site conditions, and troubleshooting potential problems during testing. By the end of the program, successful technicians will be prepared to conduct accurate load tests, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and demonstrate advanced expertise in generator performance testing. Course Description: The EGSA Load Bank Certification is an intensive 3-day course designed for experienced technicians who aim to enhance their knowledge and abilities in load bank operations, safety, setup, and testing procedures. The curriculum combines classroom and hands-on training sessions. The course layout includes dedicated time for classroom instruction and lab work on Day 1, followed by more classroom/lab work and a practical assessment on Day 2, and concludes with a final practical assessment and the EGSA Load Bank Certification test on Day 3.
