finished, the Lord Jesus will rule as King over all the earth. Then His glory will be known among the heathen. They now have idols of wood and stone which neither see nor heax-, but the Lord Jesus is the living God who loves and cares for all people. It was He who helped His Father make the world. When He comes again to earth, He will make all things new; no more thorns and thistles will grow, wars will end, and we will sing thanksgiving to God every day be cause He saved us out of all our troubles. The Lord Jesus will rejoice over us with singing, the angels in heaven will also rejoice, and the nations on earth will worship and praise Him for His wonderful works. The Lord Jesus is a great King and a great God, and He shall reign forever and ever. We shall reign with the Lord Jesus, and His kingdom shall have no end. Object- Lesson T EAMWORK OBJECTS: A pair of field glasses, and a piece of cardboard on which the word “JESUS” is printed. (Place the card board sufficiently far away so it cannot be read from the platform.) LESSON: Did you know that field glasses, to be effective, must be properly adjusted, clean, and pointed in the same direction at the same time? They are good examples of teamwork. They show us how Christians should work together P.alnt 13» il O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known Me. 2 Thou knowest my downslttlng and mine uprising: thou understandest my thought afar off 3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word In my tongue but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest It altogether. 5 Thou hast beset me behind and be fore, and laid thine hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7 Whither shall 1 go from thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? S if 1 ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed In hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If 1 take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; . 10 Even there shall Ihy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say. Surely the darkness shall cover me: even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hidetb no* from thee; but the night shiueth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. 23 Search ine, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there bc.any wicked way ln me, aml lead me in the way everlastlng. to "ascribe” as in the American Revi sion. We cannot “give” any glory and strength to God. But we can ascribe to Him or acknowledge whaf He already has. 6. “The Lord reigneth” (v. 10). This declaration shows clearly that Pfealm 96 looks prophetically to the, coming day when our Lord shall reign upon earth. This is confirmed strongly by the last verse, which pictures Him as “he oometh to judge the earth” and “the world with righteousness” (v. 13). Golden Text Illustration P salm 34:3 George Washington’s pastor said of him: “No company ever kept him away from church. I have often been at Mount Vernon on the Sabbath morning when his breakfast table was filled with guests. But to him they furnished no pretext for neglecting his God and losing the satisfaction of setting a good example. Instead of staying at home out of fancied courtesy to them, he used constantly to invite them to accompany him.”—Charles W. Anderson. A Song Jesus Sang P salm 96 MEMORY VERSE: "Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised” (Psa. 48:1). APPROACH: When the Lord Jesus lived on earth, He sang praises and ppoke to His Father in prayer. One song Was Psalm 96, which told His own glorious plans for us. The Lord Jesus was not praising Himself when He sang this song; He was thinking of the love- of God the Father in letting Him come to this world to help us. The Lord Jesus and His Father had talked it all over in heaven. They knew that Satan, the devil, would get us into trouble; so the Lord Jesus came to save us from Satan and the sins which Satan puts

in ordei to be most effective. What are field glasses used for? “To see distant objects distinctly.” Yes, but this would not be possible if ithey did not cooperate. I am going to look through these glasses to see whether they aid my vision. Back near the door is a small cardboard with writing on it. I cannot read it without the glasses. With them I can see it clearly. It has the letters “J-E-S-U-S” on it. Billy, I want you to look through the glasses, and see whether you can see the name “JESUS.” “Yes, I see it clearly.” I told you that these glasses remind me of Christians. In Psalm 34:3, we read, “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” These glasses are working together to magnify the name of Jesus. If I should turn them around, they would make the name look smaller and more difficult to read. If our lives are clean, rightly adjusted, pointed in the right direction, and cooperating,- we together will mag nify the Lord and exalt His name. love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him« (John 14:23). DEVOTIONAL READING: 1 J o h n 2:24-28. Outline and Exposition S OMETIMES the strength and com fort that should be derived from the attributes of God are lost to the believer because they are considered only from a doctrinal viewpoint. While it is important that the believer shall have the doctrine clearly in mind, it is also imperative that he have the prac tical help of the doctrine in his life. A very good text to place over this psalm might be: “No thought can be with- holden from"'thee” (Job 42:2); or, “God . . . knoweth all things” (1 John 3:20). I. LESSON STORY: Long ago, God made Adam and Eve to be king and queen over all the earth, but Adam and Eve let Satan rule instead. Because he came into power, thorns and thistles grow, and sin makes people hate and kill one another. But on the cross and in. His living again, the Lord Jesus con quered Satan.
