the devil, is a thief who would like to come in to steal our joy and leave his lies and hate in our hearts to spoil us. Lies come from our hearts, for “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matt. 12:34). If we swear and say hateful words, we have not closed the door of our hearts to Satan. His bad things spoil us here, and we cannot go to heaven, for outside of heaven are all liars and those that hate. But God loves us and sent His dear Son to save us from Satan. The Lord Jesus stands at the door of every heart and knocks. He waits for you to open the door. Will you say to Him today, “ Come in, Lord Jesus, come in to stay” ? He will send Satan away with the lies and hate and will make your heart a sweet, clean place filled with God’s love,, joy, and peace. You cannot make your own heart right even if you try hard, but God will teach you His way, which is to save you through His Son Jesus. At school you learn reading, writing, and arithmetic, but if you know the Lord Jesus and learn of Him, you will be really wise, for then you will listen to God’s Word and obey Him. He will make your path grow brighter and brighter because He is with you to pro tect you. God the Holy Spirit gave us the Bible that We might know God the Father and His Son and through Him have everlasting life. Object Lesson L ight for the N ight OBJECTS: An electric light bulb, an extension cord, a long glass dish, such as is used for defrosting an electric refrig erator, a red cardboard cross, enough water to fill the glass dish, and a small amount of salt. (Cut one of the wires in the extension cord, about six inches Prov. 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaoeth: and there is that with- holdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. 26 He that withholdeth corn, the peo ple shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. 27 He that diligently seeketh good pro cureth favor: but he that seeketh mis chief, it shall còme unto him. 28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. 29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant "to the wise of heart. 80 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. 31 Behold, the righteous shall be rec ompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner. Luke 16:11. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? V » - M ill la ••»* »#

from the socket. Bare both ends of the cut wire, and untwist them sufficiently to allow each to rest at opposite ends of the glass dish. Before the class be gins, sprinkle enough salt into the glass dish to cause the light to bum dimly. Place the red cross at the end of the dish opposite the bulb.) LESSON: Notice how dimly this elec tric light burns! It is like a Christian. When one accepts Christ as a personal Saviour, a new light shines out of his life. It may not be very bright, even as this light shines dimly. You will notice that the light burns more brightly as the bulb moves nearer to the cross. In life, the nearer we get to Christ, the brighter our light shines. It is God’s will that we walk more close ly to Christ day by day. In 2 Peter 3:18 we read, “But. grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” f. will move the bulb away from.the cross. The light grows dim. As we look at this light bulb, we are reminded of the words in Proverbs 4:18, “But the path of the just is as the shin ing light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” If we Christians will be faithful to God in Bible study, prayer, and testimony, we will live closer to Christ, and will have the joy of knowing that our light is burning more brightly each successive day. that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. LESSON TEXT : Prov. 11:24-31; Lk. 16:11-13. GOLDEN TEXT :
