IMGL AUTUMN CONFERENCE

Welcome to the land of precision, punctuality and impossible beauty*

THIS YEAR’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED AUTUMN CONFERENCE IS IN ZURICH, SWITZERLAND, AND, AS PHIL SAVAGE REPORTS, EVERYTHING IS BEING METICULOUSLY PREPARED.

I MGL conferences are always memorable events. Members measure their longevity with the world’s pre-eminent gaming law association by the year and location of the conferences they have attended. For as long as they have been running, organizers of both the spring and autumn conferences have kept three priorities at the forefront of their minds: expert content, unparalleled networking and great wine and Zurich will tick all the boxes. Visitors from Europe, North America, Africa and Australia head to Switzerland’s largest city for the IMGL annual autumn conference 2023. For those arriving in town early, there is a Swiss chocolate experience on the morning of September 6th but the conference will burst fully formed into life that evening. The venue for the opening reception is the fabulous Die Waid panoramic restaurant which soars above the city giving unique views of the lake and mountains beyond. As ever, this will be the perfect occasion to renew old friendships as well as acquiring new ones as members and non-members

alike relax over a glass of something cold and bubbly.

The business of the conference begins in earnest the following morning at Zurich’s Marriott hotel situated on the banks of the Limmat river. The overall theme of the conference is the need to bring together all stakeholders in the industry, from regulators to operators, content providers to media, and the lawyers that advise them. When this happens there is the chance to build a safer, more sustainable and better functioning industry which will benefit players, communities and industry alike. After a welcome and opening remarks from IMGL President Quirino Mancini, the day starts with views from the top featuring Emmanuel Mewisson, CEO of Gaming 1 Group and Jason Lane, President of IAGR and Chief Executive of the Jersey Gambling Commission. Although they come from very different perspectives, both are committed to better regulation and their insights are sure to be instructive.

The panel that follows takes up the theme of collaboration to
