Remember ladies, you still need an annual exam every year! Not needing a pap test but every 3 to 5 years is not an excuse to skip yearly followup. Finally, the biggest thing to note about the warning signs for cervical cancer is that in most cases of early disease, there are no warning signs! This is why prevention and screening are key. However, if you experience abnormal vaginal bleeding, persistent vaginal discharge or odor, vaginal pain, pain with intercourse or pelvic pain these are good reasons to seek an evaluation by a medical professional.
