2020 IMPACT OF GIVING $5.76 million raised in fiscal year 2020 Wellstar is grateful for every dollar donated to the Foundation. However, Coronavirus (COVID-19) significantly impacted services and fundraising in FY 2020. The financial toll of the pandemic on Wellstar was enormous. As we continue our recovery efforts, we are highlighting some of the advancements made possible thanks to contributions from our generous donors.

COVID-19 Impact As one of the most extensive and integrated not-for-profit health systems in Georgia, Wellstar stood on the frontline in the fight against this pandemic. In response, the community overwhelmingly supported our healthcare workers by donating essential safety equipment, services and funding toward the Wellstar Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Hospital Enhancements ● Critical Decision Unit Buildout – Wellstar Paulding Hospital: A designated unit designed for patients who come to the Emergency Department and may need additional tests, treatment or observation requiring them to stay longer than a typical emergency department visit. The CDU helps to meet increased demand for emergency care in the area. ● LUCAS Systems – Wellstar Cobb Hospital: An easy-to-use, automated chest compression device that helps emergency workers deliver lifesaving care to patients in cardiac arrest. ● Neuro Biplane – Wellstar North Fulton Hospital: A hybrid operating room, offering biplane imaging capabilities and staffing support that make stroke and neurocritical care available faster and closer to home.
