THE K I N G ’ S BUS I NE S S
The culmination of God’s marvelous revelation concerning the Messiah is that the Father shall be at last glori fied in the Son and He shall be all in all (Is. 49:1-6).
XII. His Second Advent. He shall gather His saints together (Ps. 50:5) and shall come with the clouds of heaven (Dan. 7:13). Then the kings of earth shall set themselves against the Lord’s Anointed (Ps. 2:2) and He shall vex them in His sore dis pleasure (Ps. 2 :5). He shall come with His saints, and His feet shall stand on the mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4, 5). Israel shall look on Him whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bit terness for Him, as one that is in bit terness for his first-born (Zech. 12:10) and one shall say unto Him, “What are these wounds in thine hands?” Then He shall answer, “ Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.” (Zech. 13:6). He shall have compassion upon Israel and will gather her from all the nations whither the Lord God had scattered her. If any be driven out unto the uttermost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord God gather her, and from thence will he fetch her and shall possess it again. (Deut. 30:3; Is. 11:11. 12). They shall seek the Lord and their King (Hos. 3:5.) He shall dwell in their midst (Zech. 6:12, 13.). He shall reign gloriously (Is. 11:1- 15) on the throne of His father David (2 Sam. 7:16; Is. 9:6; Jer. 23:5, 6; Dan. 7:14) on mount Zion (Is. 28:16; Ps. 2:1-9; Mi. 4:7) and shall judge right eously. (Ps. 96: 10-13; 50:1-10). He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles (Is. 42:1, 3), His Word shall be like a sharp sword (Is. 49:1-6), and He shall break the nations with a rod of iron (Dan. 7:14). He shall join the nation together (Zech. 2:11, 12), they shall be His inheritance and the utter most parts of the earth His possession (Ps. 2:1-9). He shall be their ensign (Is. 11:12) and all nations shall seek the Lord (Is. 11:10).
CHARLES WESLEY’S HYMNS In the safety vault of the great Con gressional Library in Washington, a- mong many priceless volumes is the original volume of Charles Wesley’s Hymns, published in Small street, Bris tol, England in 1762, by E. Farley. The following is one of them: When shall the Judge descend And fix His Kingdom here! With vehement love we still attend To see our Lord appear. With languishing desire, We long our head to own, Encircled by His angel-choir, High on His azure throne. O King of Saints, come down In dazzling majesty, Thy suffering witnesses to crown, Who share Thy cross with Thee. Thou promisest to give The crown at that glad day To all who lovingly believe, And for Thy coming stay. The name, the cross, we love, Of our exalted friend, And still to meet Thee from above, Our hearts to heaven we send. And when Thou dost appear, Thou wilt the Kingdom give, And all Thy fellow sufferers here Into Thy joys receive. WITH HIM “ Today shalt thou be with Me In Paradise.” A great French preacher once said: “ ‘Today’—what prompti tude! ‘With Me’—what company! ‘In Paradise’—what bliss!” MB
