to hear the message. This made us think of Cornelius and the calling of Peter. Thus we have had the privi lege of seeing the barriers crumbling away and entrance given to the Word of God. God is most graciously blessing our ministry in the hospital where several young men have accepted the Lord as their Saviour. One young man who had a limb amputated is so happy now since God answered prayer for him in giving him an artificial limb that he says God is not only doing this for him but he expects still greater things from Him. God is indeed blessing the band of students who have been assigned to our department and He is giving them souls, for which we praise His name. We do covet your prayers and beg of you to hold up these Mexican converts in your prayers and ask that God shall increase our band of workers. m BIOLA CLUB, PASADENA BIOLA CLUB, Pasadena, B lw ood F. Lyon, Superintendent. Splendidly located in the heart o f the business district, a r f° r large Bible classes, evange listic services and personal soul-saving work. “ H HIS, the latest department to be added to the evangelistic activities of the Bible Insti tute of Los Angeles, is doing a work that will be of inter est to readers of The King’s Business. Dr. and Mrs. Elwood P. Lyon, who took charge of Biola Club the first of last October, report that for the month of October and November there were 100 services conducted, with over 5000 in attendance upon the Bible Classes. There were 12 conversions, 210 special requests for prayer, 409 callers, 74 special Interviews, 6832 tracts given out, 124 letters written, 300 calls made, one family re-united and several young people helped and encouraged in their spiritual lives. Many girls and women have come to Mrs. Lyon for advice, help and comfort, and only eternity will re veal what this has meant to some of them. Many Christian people of education and culture,—missionaries, ministers and Christian workers,— come to this place for inspiration, help and cheer, as well as many of God’s poorer and humbler people. The Noonday Bible Study and Prayer Service has been a

great blessing and help to many, and a number of Bibles, Testaments and re ligious books have gone forth on their errands for the blessed Lord. The work is growing in interest, power and prospects and we covet your prayers for God’s continued blessing upon it. Jte M DR. OLIVER’S WORK Dr. A. Reilly Copeland, Pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, Denton, Texas, where Dr. Oliver conducted an evangelistic campaign in October, has just written the Institute as follows: Dr. French E. Oliver, well-known evangelist of the Pacific Coast (Los Angeles) recently closed a four weeks’ tent revival for Central Presbyterian Church of Denton, Texas. Many souls were saved and lives were consecrated for definite service. Some people attended service who had not heard a sermon in ten years. People are unanimous in the opinion that Dr. Oliver’s sermons are the best ever delivered here. Many say the best they ever heard. He sounds a true note to the Word and is uncompromising to ward sin, hypocrisy and infidelistic criticisms of the Bible by modern theo logians, higher critics, evolutionists, Unitarians and other infidels. Dr. Oliver is a great lecturer as well as a profound Bible teacher. His lec tures to men only are worth the ex pense of a campaign. He delivered three lectures to men, and two to women, two to High School girls, one to High School boys, and one to the girls of the College of Industrial Arts which they say was the greatest ever heard there, and they rated him with W. J. Bryan and other noted speakers who come there each year. The foundation that Dr. Oliver lays upon the Word of God is marvelous. His work here will be remembered fifty years and souls will continue to be saved from the seed sown. I only wish that every church in America could have such solid preaching upon the basic fundamentals so much needed to day as that given by such capable men as Dr. Oliver. However, he is in a class by himself. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harkness had charge of the music. With Dr. Oliver they form one of the strongest evangel istic teams on the American continent. A. Reilly Copeland. Sincerely,
