Engage the participants in sharing experiences of how to perform pressure fluid work tasks safely using safe working practices including:

a.

Hydraulic fluids and fluids under pressure PPE

b.

Hazards of fluids under pressure

c. Trapped pressure and stored energy in a pressure system

d. Circumstances in which oil injection is possible into the human body

e.

High temperature fluids in pressure systems

f.

Hazards with taking an oil sample

g.

Hazards related to pre-charging an accumulator

h. Stored energy hazards related to pre-charge pressure in an accumulator

The participants shall:

Engage in the learning activity and share understandings about:

a. how to perform pressure fluid work tasks safely using safe working practices

b. the importance of using the safe working practices in their work

c. the participants’ responsibility in ensuring that work is always performed in accordance with the pressure fluid working practices

d. examples of actions to take when there is a lack of safe working practices in place for pressure fluid work

ELEMENT 3.2 - WORK INSTRUCTIONS

Learning objectives:

21) The participants can discuss the importance of always following work instruction when working with pressure fluid systems (Knowledge, intermediate level)

22) The participants can show interest in and willingness to always obtaining the most up to date and correct company specific work instruction before starting to work with pressure fluid systems (Ability, basic level)
