S o far, it has been a busy start to the year for lighting designer and manufacturer Ansell Lighting. Contained in that new brochure is a product the company is extremely excited about. The Ansell’s ever- popular Tornado Evo batten range has been upgraded, with a market-leading specification and an attractive price point. Suitable for a wide variety of applications, the Tornado EVO is a high-performance LED light capable of delivering a highly efficient 160lm/W.
Power selectable, it offers both high and low output power options and delivers excellent light uniformity thanks to a high transmittance polycarbonate diffuser. The Tornado EVO features a smart new look, and it is available in three lengths, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm. A key feature of the upgraded luminaire is a selectable CCT between 4000K, 5000K and 6000K, allowing users to choose their desired lighting hue. For added functionality, a range of additional options, such as OCTO smart controller, digital dimming, corridor function, integral microwave sensor, self-test and DALI emergency versions are also available. Crucially, the emergency option has been
improved so that the whole luminaire illuminates during emergency operations, not just a small area. The Tornado EVO CCT has been designed with ease of installation in mind and features an innovative spring clip gear tray release. It is also fitted with a Tridonic driver as standard, promises a long L70 54,000 hours LED lifespan and comes with a five-year warranty for added confidence. The Tornado Evo is a great example of Ansell Lighting’s efforts to reduce the number of unnecessary SKUs across its ranges by adding selectable power and CCT or removing drivers, and therefore supporting the company’s sustainability efforts.
