Tests passed by FP500:

in, or carried upon, cable management or support systems. Copper or ferrous fixings are suitable, but aluminum with a melting point of 660˚C is not. As well as being non-burning, any fixing selected should not impede the cable performance during a fire – to guarantee that the cable will carry on working. To specify FP500, look for the mechanically protected fire-resistant control cable assessed in accordance with BS 8519:2020 Clause 11, meeting 120-minute survival time in BS EN 50200:2015, BS 8434-2 and BS 8519:2020 Annex D, with a red outer sheath for easy identification.
