Etiquette requires a conscious effort and dedication. Etiquette changes according to customs and norms. The etiquette you display at a restaurant will be different from the way you present yourself at a birthday party. Let’s look at some ways to practice proper etiquette and manners:

DARE TO D.A.R.E.!

SUMMER IS AROUND THE CORNER!

I hope everyone has had a fantastic school year, and I know you are ready for summer. We may not realize it during the year, but we grow both in our studies and as people. Part of our growing is getting outside of our comfort zone and trying something new; for example: learning a new sport in gym class, try joining a team this summer to play your new sport. You may have horses and now you are ready for your first trail ride. Part of growing is learning and trying new things. So, this summer, learn something new and get outside and have fun. Have a great summer, and be safe and responsible. learned to ride

1. MIND YOUR LANGUAGE

4. BE ON TIME A well-mannered person always arrives on time. Being on time shows that you are not only punctual but also considerate of others’ time. For example, if you have to be at school at a certain time, aim to arrive a few minutes early to allow yourself a buffer. You can prepare for classes, relax or think through your ideas while you wait. You will also avoid being late for class making a bad impression or being marked as tardy. 5. KEEP AN OPEN MIND In life, you will come across various kinds of people from different backgrounds. Not everyone will agree with what you have to say or offer. There will be times when conflicts may arise due to disagreements. For example, you may be required to work with different teams, therefore working with others who have different work styles. Flexibility prevents conflicts from escalating and helps maintain a positive and courteous environment.

Hey Kids! Etiquette is all about kindness, being friendly, being polite, integrity, and good manners. “I know first hand that growing up is sometimes hard. When you know the rules, correct etiquette and manners, you will be able to get along with others and deserve respect leading to a happier life.”

It’s important to pay attention to the way you communicate with others. Use respectful language that makes others feel valued. Say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ to express your gratitude. Avoid speaking loudly when you’re conversing with someone. 2. BE FRIENDLY AND RESPECTFUL You must treat others with respect if you want to be treated respectfully. It’s possible that someone is having a bad day and behaves rudely with you. This shouldn’t prevent you from responding in a calm and composed manner. Good etiquette and manners create a culture of trust and respect., allowing you to communicate and play with others. 3. DRESS APPROPRIATELY Every event and place has a dress code, whether you are going to school, church, or a sporting event. Wearing appropriate attire shows that you pay attention to details. Appropriate clothes make you look presentable and help you meet social expectations.
