How To Take An Airplane Ride T aking an airplane ride isn’t exactly a dif ficult problem. For example if you hap pen to live in San Francisco and you want to fly to Karachi you simply go to the representa tive of Qantas Empire Airways (or any com pany that flies that route) and buy a ticket. You drive down the peninsula to Interna tional Airport and inspect the big Super Con stellation that will take you there. You study the time schedule and talk to those who are boarding the plane. So now you’ve 1) made your decision to go to Karachi, 2) you’ve bought your ticket, 3) you’ve checked the schedule, 4) you’ve talked to others who are going and 5) you’ve inspected the plane. Yet one thing is lacking. Unless you get on that plane you’ll never get to Karachi. This is plain fact. Can’t this illustration be applied to the Chris tian life? We decide we want to go God’s way. We join a church. We go through all the mo tions. But . . . but, unless we let loose and simply commit ourselves to Christ we cannot become a Christian. This is also plain fact. It’s up to each of us to walk aboard or stay grounded. END.
