Measure width and length or diameter of the filter to the outermost points. Note any hole in the filter, the location of the hole and the diameter of the hole.
Sheets & Envelopes 1. Measure length and width 2. If a hole is present: i. Measure across the opening of the hole to determine the diameter ii. Sheet: Measure all sides to the outside edge of the hole to determine its position Envelope: Measure from the closed or stitched points of the filter to the edge of the hole

iii. You should have three measurements for the hole position when you’ve finished iv. If measuring a hole on an envelope, make a note if the hole is through one side or passes through both sides of the filter
