Provide data to the City of Irvine to assist in the development of more accurate HAZUS disaster projection. Study the implementation of a SCADA Communications network that uses high-speed Ethernet radio with a redundant /alternate path backbone. Integrate new earthquake mapping data and improve technical analysis of earthquake hazards, consistent with the goal of the Seismic Element of the General Plan to "minimize the loss of life, disruption of goods and services, and the destruction of property associated with an earthquake." Encourage seismic strength evaluations of critical facilities to identify vulnerabilities for mitigation of public infrastructure, and critical/essential facilities to meet current seismic standards.
