Identify critical City facilities that require backup power capability for use during a power failure. Establish a priority list to be implemented as part of the City's Strategic Business Plan. Develop an awareness campaign to provide public information materials to City residents, pertinent to the protection of life and property before, during, and after a windstorm. During building plan check to ensure compliance with UBC standards followed by a field inspection of construction.
Ongoing Determine backup power equipment requirements for critical facilities; create equipment/testing log to ensure backup equipment is in working service; test all critical facility backup power generators on a regular basis Ongoing Compile existing windstorm hazard mitigation brochures: distribute these materials to City of Irvine residents create a community awareness training presentation.
