About the Award This scholarship was established by Bessie May Allen, Director of the Home Economics Department at UWSP for 39 years. Bessie May Allen shaped the home economics program at UWSP. She was vital in keeping the program alive, bringing it back to campus after the Board of Regents had voted to eliminate it. Bessie May Allen Scholarship Natalie is a junior in the dietetics program and hopes to earn a master's degree from UWSP. She is a student employee for the CPS Café and is also the dietetics program's food lab manager. Natalie plans to educate and empower people to eat healthy for improved quality of life.
