Opening in late Fall 2025, Larch House is an independently-owned luxury boutique hotel in the historic Railway District of downtown Whitefish, Montana. Designed by Seattle- based architecture firm Olson Kundig, the property is composed of 39 rooms across ten distinct buildings, arranged to feel like a private residential enclave. This approach honors the character of the neighborhood while offering the sophistication and comfort of a full-service luxury hotel. Guests enjoy exceptional walkability to downtown Whitefish, Whitefish Lake, and the Whitefish River, with Glacier National Park only a short drive away. Rooted in sustainable practices and a commitment to using local resources, the property is designed to reflect both its natural and residential setting. Larch House introduces a new vision of modern mountain hospitality to Whitefish.
ACCOMODATIONS
Larch House offers four distinct room types designed to meet the needs of a range of travelers. The Cabin Suites are among the largest and most private accommodations, offering a retreat-like atmosphere. The Larch House Suites feature spacious layouts and views of Whitefish Mountain Resort. The Longhouse King Rooms include the option of connecting doors, making them ideal for families and groups traveling together. The Larch House Queen Rooms, cozy in scale yet well appointed, feature floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in natural light. All accommodations are designed to overlook either the interior courtyard, Whitefish Mountain Resort, or the surrounding Railway District. The property also includes two accessible units, designed to ensure ease of use. Each room features Grown Alchemist bath amenities, La Bottega robes, 60” smart TVs, mini-fridges, and original artwork, blending comfort with a strong sense of place.
CULINARY Larch House offers a collection of distinct dining experiences that celebrate the flavors of Montana. Enga, the property’s feature restaurant and lobby bar, opens with the hotel and showcases seasonal, locally sourced ingredients prepared with an contemporary approach. The Antler Room, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar, debuts in Winter 2025 and emphasizes locally-inspired craft cocktails and intimate, dim-lit ambiance. Spring 2026 will see the opening of The Oak Room, a private dining space for edited gatherings, and Terrace, a rooftop bar offering panoramic views of Whitefish Mountain Resort. Each venue reflects the property’s dedication to design, authentic hospitality, and culinary excellence. Together, they create a dining program that feels both vibrant and rooted in the region.
EVENTS Designed with versatility in mind, Larch House offers a variety of spaces for private gatherings, weddings, and milestone celebrations. The landscaped interior courtyard and boulder garden can accommodate tented events of up to 175 guests, while the rooftop terrace provides a striking backdrop for smaller receptions. The Oak Room, opening in 2026, offers an intimate dining environment for private dinners or executive retreats. Full-property buyouts allow for complete exclusivity, giving hosts and their guests access to all accommodations and venues across the property. The hotel’s residential scale and curated design lend themselves to events that feel personal, intentional, and memorable.
