H VERY mail brings us; new names for enrollment in o u r army of %%iehderS of the Faith.’’; Some are enlisting from foreign countries. Let us not cease in our efforts to secure the. cooperation of others and the enrollment of their names, as well as additional subscribers for The King’s Business. 1 Listen to what one “Defender” tells of her service: “ I will try and get some subscriptions for The King’s Business, for I know this is a good way in which to spread our Lord’s message, and to receive good from His Word. I know there are many hungry hearts in this locality. W e are studying the Book of John in our Bible Class, so I purchased some of your special edition of the Gospel of John, and we are using: them in the class. I know there are some that are not^Christians in the class, and we are praying that this stud# may bring them into the light. Have also given out thd,“ Gpme unto Me” leaflets. It is only a little over two'years since I came to know our Lord. I was in Christian Science for over twenty years, and there is a song of joy in my heart always as I look back and sep how the Lord led me through those dark days into the “Way of the Cross at last.” . - • • •1 We shall be glad to have other items of interest from the ranks. LESSON THREE The Bible is God’s Word: The foundation of our faith is in the inerrancy of the Word of God. If we are to defend the Bible wfe must have faith in it. Is the Bible God’s Word? (Answer): It claims to be. (Heb. 4 :1 2 ). “For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discemer of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Christ set His seal to its verity, and to the authorship of Moses (John 5 :4 6 ): “For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.” (Matt. 22:31, 32) “But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” (Luke 24:27) (“ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he ex pounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concern ing himself.” Christ set His seal to the authority of the Psalms (Mark 12:36)

' “ For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, ;The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.” and to the prophets (Luke 24:44) “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.” Christ gave assurance that His own message was to be completed by the message of His apostles (John 15:26, 27) “But when thé Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which pro- ceedeth, from the Father, he shall testify of m«e: And ye shall’also bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.” (John 16:12, 13) “ I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. , HoWbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will shew you things to come.” With these Scriptures you can meet any preacher or teacher who denies the authority or the inspiration of thé Bible, and challenge their authority for denying God’s Word. Quote 2 Tim. 3:16 to them: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is pro fitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruc tion in righteousness.” The inspiration extends to every word (John 14:10) “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” (John 17:8) “For I have given unto them the words which thou gav- est me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.” (1 Cor. 2:13) “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth ; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” The inspiration extends to every letter (Matt. 5:18) “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one. tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Go over these Scriptures and commit at least one under each head, and you need not fear any foe. Challenge any one who denies them, for if they do, they are denying God Himself. “Hold fast the form of sound words.” The Word is a sword— use it! The hand behind the Sword is the Hand of God, and He will cut to the.heart with it, when it is .used.
