Pear Lake

Project Clean Start is an after-care program developed by the Hope House in an effort to ease the transition from a structured treatment environment to independent living for chemically dependent women and their children.

Each Pear Lake client receives personalized treatment according to her individual needs. Program options include: • Relapse Prevention Group: Provides knowledge of the relapse process and helps the client recognize individual triggers as well as develop healthy coping skills. • Co-Dependency Group: Helps clients recognize and address how their addiction has affected their relationships. • Step Group: Provides clients with a working knowledge of the 12 steps of AA/NA with an emphasis on the curriculum, A Women’s Way Through the 12 Steps, by Stephanie Covington. • Talking Circle Group: An hour-long monthly Native American tradition in which clients are given the opportunity to speak freely in a non-confrontational manner as equals about their struggles with substance abuse. • Resurfacing Group: A group that teaches different ways to view issues and solve problems through the development and use of alternative coping skills. • Project Clean Start: An aftercare program provided by Hope House and available to all chemically dependent mothers and their children. For more information on Project Clean Start. • Mental Illness & Chemical Dependency (MICD) Group: Provides the client with education on how to manage their mental health concerns, especially as those concerns relate to chemical dependency. This co-occurring group also informs clients of the effect mental illnesses can have on addiction and relapse prevention.

• Non-Violence Group: Addresses client trauma and the effects it has on daily life while promoting non-violent solutions to various issues. • Spirituality: Connects or reconnects clients with their own morals, values, and belief systems. • Parenting Group: Provides education and support for chemically dependent mothers in their endeavor to become healthy, chemical-free parents. • Living Skills: Provides clients with necessary tools to live a healthy, chemical-free lifestyle. Topics covered include budgeting, organizational skills, etc. • Wellness Group: Educates clients about various physical problems that are often contingent with substance abuse issues. This group also promotes ways to recover from or manage such problems through positive medical and nutritional practices. • Goals and Gratitude: Designed to encourage long and short term goal planning and achievement by addressing client goals and receiving feedback from peers. • Meditation: The first group of the day in which clients read and discuss daily meditations among themselves. • Family Recovery Program: Educates clients and their families on the nature of substance abuse and recovery and how it affects the family system.
