montrose Aparto We want to show you something we are very proud of:

The new stylish, modern student residence comprises of 206 apartments, 28 communal kitchens along with Reception, Study and Laundry rooms.

Montrose Aparto which was originally constructed as a hotel in 1960’s was converted into student apartments in 2014. Following a two- stage tender process, Ardmac were appointed to carry out complex structure and fire remediation works along with the full refurbishment of the five floors of student apartments.

The project consisted of the removal of plasterboard ceilings and sections of walls, removal of stud partitions and full strip out of all finishes. New stud partitions were constructed along with the installation of fire rated ceilings, encasement of beams and columns, installation of fire stopping and new dampners, installation of putty pads and intumescent pillows in trunking and alterations to the existing fire detection and emergency lighting systems. The 5 floors were fitted out with new finishes, fixtures and furnishings along with upgrades to existing services to accommodate new ceilings and partitions. Works were completed over busy live retail units, including Bank of Ireland, Spar, Insomnia and Subway. A Health & Safety Construction Stage Plan and Stakeholder Communication procedure were implemented and managed by the Ardmac Site Management Team. Works sequence including deliveries and waste removal were managed through programme meetings, Last Planner Sessions and Daily Whiteboard Meetings.

“Big congratulations and huge thanks for the almighty effort that you, the team and all supporting staff and trades have contributed over the last 18months. This has been a project like no-other and without your dedication and experience we simply would not be in a position to welcome students this coming academic year. Through each setback, the collaborative nature has enabled us to adapt and remain nimble and I would say sets the benchmark for projects going forward.”

CHRIS FITZPATRICK, Head of Innovation and Technology at Ardmac, charts his company’s digital transformation journey

In the 45 years since its inception, Ardmac has earned itself a reputation not just for delivering results, but for exceeding client expectations. This has not gone unnoticed; what was once a small Irish operation is now the leading provider of high-tech cleanrooms, data centre solutions, fit-outs, specialised refurbishments, and turn-key manufacturing facilities across Europe.

Group turnover within Ireland alone last year was €75million, while overall turnover was closer to €135million.

The past 12 to 18 months have seen Ardmac complete a whole range of significant projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe; these included a 15,000 square metre cleanroom facility for WuXi Biologics in Dundalk, a large microelectronic project in Kildare, several data centre projects in Europe, and several high-end commercial fit-outs in Ireland and the UK. Key recent wins have included large pharma facilities in Limerick, Cork and Finland, data centre projects in Denmark, Germany and Austria, and battery facilities in the UK. Modular construction is fast becoming a key part of the group’s activity. Having already delivered several such projects across Europe, its first modular project in Africa is on track to be delivered by the end of 2022. So far this year, the company has been working on several large campus sites, securing further phases.
