The initiative’s pilot phase, funded by Visa Foundation, was launched in January 2023, targeting 500 women entrepreneurs across 10 cities in 5 African countries: Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Through a 12-week intensive training, mentorship, and financial support program, RevUp Women provided these entrepreneurs with the tools needed to navigate the challenges of business growth and sustainability. Since its inception, the RevUp Women Initiative has made significant strides in fostering women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Key achievements include: ■ 444 women entrepreneurs trained across five countries. ■ 2400+ direct and Indirect jobs created ■ 10 implementing hubs members engaged to provide localized support and expertise. ■ Development of a comprehensive training framework for building the capacity of women entrepreneurs across various sectors. ■ $100,000 in grants distributed to 10 outstanding women-led businesses ($10,000 each) to support their growth and sustainability. ■ 100+ women entrepreneurs matched with mentors through the RevUp Women Global Mentoring Network, connecting them with successful female founders and executives worldwide.
