In 2024, the AfriLabs Member Services Department made significant strides in expanding, engaging, and supporting its network of innovation hubs across Africa and beyond. By growing the network, strengthening community engagement, facilitating capacity-building initiatives, and creating meaningful collaboration
opportunities, the department reinforced its commitment to fostering a thriving African innovation ecosystem. This year saw remarkable growth in AfriLabs’ network, increasing from 467 to 519 innovation hubs across 53 countries. Notably, the expansion extended to new cities, including Stellenbosch, South Africa, and Mokhotlong, Lesotho, further strengthening AfriLabs’ presence on the continent.
Beyond expansion, the department actively engaged its members through capacity-building programs, networking sessions, and delegations to major global technology events. These initiatives connected
African hubs with valuable learning opportunities, potential investors, and global innovation leaders, setting the stage for greater collaboration and impact. Deepening Engagement and Support for Members
