DON’T LET THE IDEA FAIRY STEAL YOUR MONEY WHY THE IDEA FAIRY WILL DO MORE DAMAGE TO YOUR BUSINESS THAN ANYTHING ELSE

The greatest danger entrepreneurs face is not competition, the economy, or other external forces. It’s the Idea Fairy. The Idea Fairy is the little voice that comes to highly creative people like us every few days — or even every few hours — and says, “Hey, what if we tried this instead?” or “Let’s go make our own T-shirts!” If you let the Idea Fairy take control of your business, the absolute best- case scenario is that your business will stall. Your membership will stop growing, your revenue will plateau, and your profits will dwindle as your overhead creeps up and your competition sucks away your members. The worst-case scenario is that your business will fall apart immediately. The solution to this problem is discipline and focus. Instead of letting the Idea Fairy steal your money and put your family’s future at risk, you need to have tunnel vision, focusing on the only three things that will grow your business: DELEGATE to your team, MOTIVATE them to do their best work, and relentlessly SELL your program. Let me be fully transparent with you: Being a founder is brutally difficult. In my journey to create the Fit Body Boot Camp model and expand it across the world, I’ve had anxiety attacks so bad I thought they were heart attacks. I’ve lost tens of thousands of dollars from my own pocket because of the mistakes I made with earlier versions of the franchise. I was happy to do all of this because I wanted to create a simple, easy model that would allow me to do the work I love and make a great profit from it. You shouldn’t have to go through the struggles I went through, but if you listen to the Idea Fairy, you will. If you want to succeed as a Fit Body Boot Camp owner, do exactly what our business coaches tell you to. Follow our model exactly as it was designed. Don’t worry about printing your own T-shirts or adding yoga or anything like that. Those are distractions that will steal the food off your family’s table. REMEMBER WHY YOU JOINED A FRANCHISE

HQ SPOTLIGHT: TRISH CHAN GROWING THE FAMILY THROUGH PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Every call starts with something different.

Her personality embodies what Fit Body is about: caring enough to go the extra mile for someone. For example, she once refused to take money from a prospect suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey because she knew he needed to land on his feet first. “The ability to have a connection with someone halfway across the world and help them realize they can take control of their future is so rewarding,” she says.

At 8 a.m., Trish Chan talks to Steve and learns the names of his kids — all four of them. At noon, she hears all about Erica’s weekend trip to the emergency room for pneumonia. 3 p.m. rolls around, and Joseph, another potential franchisee, gushes about his upcoming vacation plans. This year, he’s going to Jamaica.

She listens to every word. And her clients love her for that.

Trish is one of Fit Body’s highest-performing Franchise Business Advisors. In her role, she screens hundreds of people interested in purchasing a Fit Body Boot Camp, and she determines whether they’d make a good fit as an owner or not. It’s arguably the hardest and most important role at HQ because the success of our entire franchise hinges on how well our boot camps do. Yet she always finds joy and purpose in what she does. “I love working with people in general — seeing them take a leap of faith, overcome their fears, and decide to pursue their passions, then watching them live out their dreams and achieve a better life,” says Trish. It’s her warm personality that makes a person she just met feel like they’ve known her forever. Trish can somehow turn an overwhelming legal document into a chance to connect with a client.

She also attributes a lot of her success to the support of her teammates, who push her to perform at her very best.

“Every single person here is elite,” she says. “We have a clear vision of our mission, so it’s pretty seamless working with everyone. We support and look after each other. I couldn’t have asked for better human beings to surround myself with.”

What are his key performance indicators, and what are the metrics? Does he know what his payroll is? What percentage of his revenue is payroll? It’s not sexy, but it will improve his business and leave him feeling satisfied. Always track those KPIs, and you’ll level up faster than ever before. WHY KPIS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR FITNESS BUSINESS HOW KPIS CAN MAKE YOU A HAPPIER, MORE SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR

There’s an old saying: “That which is not tracked is not improved.” If we can’t track and measure something, we can’t improve it. It’s not the sexy part of business. The sexy part of business is when you run a Facebook ad and people comment and like it. Instant gratification. But you need KPIs to track your growth in business. For entrepreneurs, KPIs lead to long-term success and happiness. WHAT ARE KPIS? A KPI is a key performance indicator. A CEO’s KPI, for example, might be based on how many news outlets, radio shows, and podcasts they’re featured on. If they’re not generating enough traffic for the company, the sales team can’t convert that traffic into prospects and leads, and then into paying clients. You have your own KPIs too. What is your closing rate? How much revenue do you make per month? Per week? When we don’t hit those KPIs, we go right into problem-solving to see how we can increase leads, generate more revenue, budget expenses better, and manage payroll properly. So how do KPIs affect your happiness? Let’s first talk about the two major hormones that play a role in human happiness.
