Your body’s filtration system is a pro at keeping the gunk and grime at bay, and eating clean, healthy foods can aid in this process. But the place you choose to call home and the items you fill it with can actually inhibit your body from doing the job it needs to do. There are a variety of different environmental factors that may be filtering toxins into your body. There’s the air quality inside and outside your home, the substances in the water you drink, and the quality of the air in the environment you work in. For example, factory, construction, and maintenance workers may be exposed to more chemicals and pollutants than those who work in a school or office. Likewise, someone who lives near farmland may breathe healthier air compared to someone in a large city, but their well water may face a huge risk due to waste runoffs on crops. Residents in cities aren’t immune to water quality issues, as well. Factory runoffs and large filtration systems can still create dangerous water issues. While you cannot completely control the environmental toxins you’re exposed to, you can mitigate some of the effects with the following tweaks to your lifestyle.
