The Kandake Revolution

We spoke to a mother of one protester, who was desperately searching for her son. “He is a father to one child and his wife is carrying the second. We have been searching for days, but there is no trace of him,” she told us. Her words still ring in my ears. She is only one of many grieving women, who lost a husband, a brother, or a son. To date, many of the protesters are still missing. Their relatives are living a nightmare; some have given up, others still hope their loved ones will show up. What adds insult to injury is that the interim government has not presented sufficient answer to the victims’ families. This was the story of a revolution I covered … and lived.
