The U.S. healthcare system is complex with multiple players, unprecedented scientific innovation, continued growth, and dynamic change. Understanding the Business of Healthcare brings leaders together from across the industry to break down barriers and communicate the challenges that different parties face, so that leaders can identify new ways forward. Faculty from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and the UNC Health Sciences Schools will guide participants through a journey of the healthcare value chain including patients, providers, payers, manufacturers, and policy makers. You will leave with a deeper understanding of all components of the healthcare ecosystem and be better equipped to innovate across the industry.

THE FACILITY Understanding the Business of Healthcare will take place at the Rizzo Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Our premier meeting and conference facilities are designed to provide an ideal environment for learning without distractions. They are fully equipped with the latest presentation and instructional technologies. Our 183 on-site guest rooms and suites are elegant and accommodating. Select suites are open to guests in the historic DuBose House across the courtyard, which wraps modern amenities in a stately, historic ambiance. The Rizzo Center features an outdoor infinity lap pool and a 2,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center.

The Business of U.S. Healthcare is dynamic, and its success is critical to the health of the nation’s economy. In response, UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School has established the Center for the Business of Health, bringing together experts from schools across UNC. The new program ‘Understanding the Business of Healthcare’ has been developed to help prepare business leaders for the future challenges in healthcare.
