EXPOSITION AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

v. | | "When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the brook Cedron (Kidron), where was a garden, into the which He entered (add, Himself) and His disciples." Jesus longed to meet the Father in prayer. The awful weight of agony that had come upon Him because He was the bearer of the sins of mankind was crushing Him. “His soul was exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death.” (Matt. 26:28). Those who knew Jestis best knew that this retired place of prayer was the likeliest place to find Him at that time of night. Judas knew his Master’s habits well and he had often been there with him. In that hallowed garden, beneath the old olive trees, he had often seen Jesus interceding with God. But his ;heart had become so hardened by covetousness that the sacred sight of Jesus
