Sunday, June 22, 2025 - 2 pm Valley Arts and Lectures Series with Author Joanna Choi Kalbus The Valley Arts and Lectures Series proudly presents The Boat Not Taken , a book reading and signing with Author Joanna Choi Kalbus. Joanna Choi Kalbus was born in North Korea. She made two critical migrations-escaping to South Korea after the Communist takeover, then immigrating to the United States as a ten-year-old during the Korean War. She received her PhD in Educational Administration from the University of California, Riverside and has worked as a teacher, principal, regional superintendent. She is a writer, harpist, and annual participant in the Bay to Breakers Footrace. We are honored to host Joanna here at the Community Center and for her to share her incredible story with our com- munity. FREE EVENT

Come join Anny’s Sing Along : a campfire-style gathering in the Community Center Courtyard on the first Friday of each month from 7- 8:30 pm. Sing all the favorite songs from our Collective Experience. All voices are welcome! FREE EVENT

June 13, July 11, August 8 - 7:00 - 8:30 pm Community Vocal Tapestry - Ongoing Series Community Vocal Tapestry , a free monthly gathering led by Anny Owen and Kelly McMenimen , begins Friday, June 13th, from 7–8:30 pm and will continue every second Friday of the month at the Community Center Courtyard. Explore playful vocal creativity, group activities, circle singing and deep listening in a welcoming space for all experience levels. Come connect, express, and have fun through voice! FREE EVENT Saturday, June 21st - 2–5 pm Creative Try-Out - Cigar Box Guitar Making Class Join the Community Center for “Creative Try-Outs” a chance to explore new creative outlets for fun and expression at the Community Center. The first June Creative Try-Out is Cigar Box Guitar making with Peter Werba .

On the 4th Friday of every month Paul and Juliette Valente bring us Kate’s Cafe Open Mic. Kate’s brings together a loyal audience and a new monthly curated roster of performers in a laid-back celebration of local and broader Marin County talent. Named in honor of beloved folk musician Kate Wolf, the night welcomes musicians of all genres, writers, poets, comedians, and singer-songwriters to share their work. You’ll catch familiar favorites who return several times a year, but there’s always someone new to discover—a fresh voice, a surprising sound,a hilari- ous new comic or poignant written work. It’s a welcoming space for creativity and connection, perfect for a small-town evening. Come early, grab a seat, and soak in the magic of local art.
